Reports to: VP of Operations Summary: The Production Manager is a results-driven leader with a strong background in architectural millwork manufacturing and lean production systems. This role is responsible for ensuring production operations run efficiently, safely, and with a relentless focus on quality. Beyond managing day-to-day safety, quality, schedule and production cost, the Production Manager will champion lean initiatives across the shop floor—implementing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Gemba boards, and SQDC metrics—to elevate performance and align the team with Acacia’s culture of operational excellence.
  • Lead and manage all production operations to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, including: 5S workplace organization and sustainment, Kaizen events for continuous improvement, Implementation and daily use of Gemba boards for team communication and performance tracking and adoption of the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) mindset to guide operational decisions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA standards and develop and maintain Acacia’s internal safety policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering- , project- , and installation management to ensure smooth project handoffs and production workflow.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
  • Develop team leaders and production staff through training, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Lead problem-solving, root-cause analysis and corrective actions to address production challenges and prevent recurrence.
  • Champion continuous improvement and scalability initiatives to support Acacia’s growth trajectory.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in production management, with at least 4 years in architectural millwork, fine woodworking, or high-end furniture manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success implementing lean manufacturing systems (5S, Kaizen, SQDC, Gemba boards). A formal lean education and Black Belt is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices.
  • Proven ability to manage production teams in a fast-paced, high-complexity, high-quality environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and hold teams accountable.
  • Proficiency with production scheduling, capacity planning, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • MS Office suite, especially Excel proficiency and charting expertise.
  • Hands-on leadership with presence on the shop floor.
  • Ability to rally people to be remarkable.
